About

Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LISWT) is a cutting-edge modality for men suffering from erectile dysfunction (ED), and one of the few treatment options that augments the body’s self-healing and repair process, potentially restoring and enhancing the natural erection mechanism.

Originally introduced by Renova, MorenovaMen is a 2nd generation shockwave-based system developed to improve men’s health and wellness. Packed as a table-top, compact and lightweight device, MorenovaMen provides treatment for various ailments and chronic conditions long suffered by men. By stimulating angiogenesis (formation of new blood vessels), this regenerative therapy is designed to treat the underlying cause of ED and restore penile tissue rather than simply treat its symptoms. Those suffering from Erectile Dysfunction (ED), Peyronie’s Disease (PD), Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS), and more, now have a quick and effective therapy alternative, which is pill-free, needle-free and surgery-free, designed for optimal patient comfort and privacy.

Unlike most current ED treatment options, which are reactive and utilized in an on-demand basis, MorenovaMen is unique in that it aims to restore the erectile mechanism in order to enable natural and spontaneous erections.

Application

Sustaining sexual health is key in living an overall healthy lifestyle, as not only it boosts our sexual wellness but can also tremendously improve our sense of self and quality of life. Firm erections rely on healthy blood flow to the penile tissue, and anything that limits blood supply to the penis (such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes) – can lead to Erectile Dysfunction (ED), sometimes referred to as impotence. Over 50% of men aged 40–70 suffer from ED. And though prevalence increases sharply with age, ED has recently also been recognized to affect up to 30% of men younger than 40.

From pills, suppositories and injections, to vacuum pumps and penile implants – there are many treatment options available to treat ED and give men stronger erections. The issue with many of these options, is that they deal with the symptoms while the cause of the problem remains unaddressed. Today, a novel and effective technology called Low-Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LISWT) is used to treat ED. LISWT uses breakthrough sound wave technology to give men stronger erections and help men who are struggling with ED.

When it comes to sexual health and well-being, seeking early advice and help is important. Aside from the clinical benefits of prevention and treatment, as it is closely related to cardiovascular events – early diagnosis of vascular ED may be helpful to predict occurrence and improve prognosis of cardiovascular events.

Irrespective of age, MorenovaMen may be a good treatment option for men who…

1. Desire a regenerative therapy to slow down, resolve, and even reverse the cause of ED
2. Are looking to enhance response to oral medication (PDE5i pills, such as Viagra and Cialis)
3. Want a non-invasive treatment before moving on to riskier or more aggressive options

LISWT is particularly effective for men with mild to moderate vasculogenic ED, who…

Done in a seated position, the procedure requires no preparations or anesthesia. A healthcare provider positions dual-probes along both left and right penile anatomy, and system emits gentle pulses. Once locked in place, no manual holding of penile shaft and/or applicator is required.

Technology & Innovation

MorenovaMen is a 2nd generation shockwave-based pain-free treatment aimed at restoring sexual function for men of all ages. With safety and simplicity in mind, MorenovaMen was developed to treat the root cause and support the penile tissue’s natural ability to maintain and heal itself. Backed by science, MorenovaMen harnesses the power to generate new tissue growth, enhance blood flow, and improve overall penile form and performance.

Powered by the proprietary Large-Area Shockwave Technology (LAST), MorenovaMen is the only device on the market specifically designed for restoring penile health. Unlike other shockwave systems, MorenovaMen delivers a series of pulsed acoustic energy simultaneously to whole regions, to induce local controlled angiogenesis and significantly improve hemodynamics.

With solid theory and accumulated clinical evidence, below are selected publication references, synthesizing the knowledge and experiences from leading practitioners, documenting a range of applications for implementing linear and large-area LISWT for men’s health in routine practice.

The majority of ED cases are vasculogenic – associated with a disorder of blood vessels and cardiovascular disease – in which plaques form in the penis, blocking blood flow and reducing the ability to obtain or maintain an erection firm enough to have sexual intercourse. Our bodies have a remarkable capacity to heal themselves. Low Intensity Shockwave Therapy (LISWT) augments the body’s natural cellular repair mechanisms. The cascade of biological actions that follows LISWT leads to accelerated tissue regeneration and cell growth, and is able to restore, improve, and even normalize tissue form and function.

Shockwaves are characterized by jump change in pressure, high energy peak, high amplitude and non-periodicity. The energy is transferred through the transmitter at the end of the applicator and into the tissue. LISWT has a long track record in medicine. Studies have found that pulse waves delivered to the penile region during LISWT are associated with stimulation of the following regenerative and reparative processes simultaneously:

1. Angiogenesis & Neovascularization

2. Decalcification of Plaques & Arterial Remodeling

2. Decalcification of Plaques & Arterial

    Remodeling

3. Stimulation of Collagen Production & Restructuring

4. Reversal of Chronic Inflammation

It is important to distinguish shockwave therapy from radial wave therapy, which is also commonly advertised as a non-invasive treatment for ED. These therapies differ not only in physical properties, but also in magnitude of parameters used, the therapeutic tissue localization and penetration depths, and most importantly – the clinical outcomes achieved.

Radial waves are aspherical divergent waves, having their highest pressure and energy density at the source, thus losing power the farther they travel into the tissue. Shockwaves are focused convergent waves, characterized by a jump change in pressure, high energy peak and high amplitude, with an ‘adjustable’ penetration depth.

Key Differences

1.Penetration Depth: Shockwave therapy provides deeper tissue penetration than radial waves and precise energy delivery at the designated depth, hence can be used in more acute cases.

2.Energy Density: As the transmitter surface constitutes the highest pressure and energy density, radial wave therapy is typically more painful and uncomfortable, with greater risk of damage to the skin. On the contrary, shockwave therapy propagates through the skin without any loss in power at  the source, with minimal impact to the skin surface, and is deemed safer, painless and more tolerable.

3.Treatment Course: Radial wave therapy will commonly require more sessions than shockwave therapy.

4.Clinical Evidence: High-quality evidence supports the broad use of shockwave therapy in ED patients, showing it can stimulate blood flow and tissue  regeneration. While radial wave therapy can provide relief  and give good results for patients with skin conditions or when targeted tissue is superficial  – there is no data to support claims that it can help with ED.
